Westbury & UB E 0-3 South Glos

First Team into second after Fry's slip up

The First Team travelled for a 1700hrs start on Saturday away to Westbury E. At the start of the day, South Glos were in third place in the table, and we were visiting the bottom placed team. Thankfully, the rain clouds resisted this week and the game started in good dry conditions, albeit a bit windy.

Craig said if he got one on one with the keeper this week he was going to lift it over him. True to his word, the first goal arrived midway through the first half, and you guessed it, it was Craig, and yes, he lifted it over the oncoming keeper, to give us a 1-0 lead after an uninspiring first half.

Some words of wisdom at half time resulted in a better second half performance and Steve Payne scored again, before Tom converted a penalty flick after a Westbury player stopped a certain goal from Dave with his foot.

All in all, a win is a win, but we will need to start again after Christmas with better performances. Next up in the league in January its 1st against 2nd as we "welcome" Old Bristolians B to Golden Hill.

Lets be honest, we owe them one!

Team; Dennis, Choc, Steve C, Supermac, Tim, Seggers, Neil, Payner, Craig, Tom, Andy, Dave.

MOM; Millie for her loyal support and absolutely cracking squad profiles. Now, wheres my Lucozade Sport.............

Have a Happy Christmas everyone,

Tim
